Still Thankful

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:15

What amazing and encouraging words. I have little cards that I hand out to people I meet that have this verse on it along with my phone number and email address. I do this in hopes of encouraging them, and opening up the possibility for a new friendship. I have been struck with the notion lately, though, that I do not have this prayer for my children. What is my problem? Aren’t they supposed  to be my greatest mission field? Yet, I find that I sometimes put more effort into encouraging my husband and friends than my kids. It is becoming evident with some of the attitudes that are present in our house. Grumbling over the evening feeding, whining about having to do dishes, and shoddy work when it is done. Is it because I don’t spend enough time working on their hearts? I think so. Do I believe that they are making progress towards a closer walk with Christ—I’m not always so sure.

I read somewhere lately the words of a lady that have really stuck with me. I wish I remember where I read this…it talked about how sometimes we work so hard to make our kids be good students that we forget to encourage them to be disciples. Discipleship should be the focus and the rest will fall in place.

Thank you, God, for your mercy. I am so thankful that it truly is new every morning. And I lift my kids to you and ask for your insight. Please, help me to emminate your love for them. Help me to be encouraging and to point them to you as their only source of hope. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

One more thing I want to talk about today is vitamins. How important are they? Are they all the same? The answers, respectively, are very and no. I try to feed my family as healthy as I have time for. But there are times that we have corn dogs for lunch and turn around to have pizza for dinner. Not often, but it has been known to happen. I can feel it when I’m not taking care of myself. I do make our bread, but it does have a small amount of white flour in it. I do use processed cream of mushroom soup in a pinch…the list goes on.

Why do I say this? This is my support for the importance of a good whole food based supplement. There are so many available which are very good but personally, I think GNLD is the best there is. It is not only whole food based, it also contains a products called Tre-En-En which is a whole grain concentrate. What this means is that you can get the benefit of fresh ground grains even if you don’t always use fresh-ground whole wheat in every thing you bake.

My encouragement to you is to begin taking a good, whole food based supplement and see how you feel. When I am taking my vitamins daily, two things happen for me. I am regular (which is certainly not the case without) and I am more awake and alert. My life is too busy and my health is too important to ignore these things.

If there is anything I can do, please let me know. I do ship my products all over. But if you have someone else who has been talking to you about starting their vitamins….give it a try. Make sure it is whole food based with no synthetics. Do a quick search on the web to see what is out there.
