Hurt and Mad, and trying to leave it at the cross…

Hurt and Mad and Trying to Leave it at the Cross

Hurt and Mad and Trying to Leave it at the Cross

So, yesterday, someone really made me angry.

Well, really, they hurt me deeply.

And the thing that was said was not only hurtful to me, but would have been hurtful to my kids if they knew, too.

That being said, that should justify my anger, right?

RIGHT???

Yeah, I know, WRONG….

1 Timothy 2:8 I want men everywhere to life up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.

So, I committed it to prayer. And made a conscious effort to Praise Him. I decided to sing “Change My Heart O God.”

Here is how that went.

((ahem)) “Change my heart Oh God” *thinking, How could she say that to me? I mean, really, does she have any idea how hurtful that was! Good grief! And it’s completely unbiblical.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Oops, let me try again. “Change my heart Oh, God. Make it ever true…” *thinking, Seriously, where did that come from anyway? How can a person justify thinking that way? Oh, I am SO MAD!

Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Oops again. ((sigh)) Trying again, with a heart of prayer.

Change MY Heart Oh God,
Make it Ever True,
Change MY Heart Oh God,
May I Be Like YOU!

There, made it through. I am not in control of the actions of others, or even my own circumstances.

Psalm 40:2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

But, I AM in responsible for my own actions.

Psalm 105:4 Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.

Forgiven. And praying…
